The Vintage Aviator Sopwith Snipe ZK-SNI May Be on Its Way to UK

The WW1 Aviation Heritage Trust in the UK has posted on their website that The Vintage Aviator Ltd has shipped an Albatros and a Snipe from Auckland to England with an expected arrival time of late June.  Their website showed photos of the aicraft as Albatros ZK-TGY and Snipe ZK-SNI.

The Albatros has already been covered at www.nzcivair.blogspot.co.nz/2015/05/the-vintage-aviator-albatros-d-va-zk-tgy.html

TVAL new build Sopwith 7F-1 Snipe ZK-SNI was first registered in New Zealand on 22/3/13.  It is powered by a reconditioned Bentley BR2 rotary engine and is marked with the serial number F2367.  This is the third of four Snipes that have been built by The Vintage Aviator (including one that was a static example built for the RAF Museum).  The above photo was taken at Masterton on 16/1/15.

These two aircraft will join the two TVAL built BE 2e's that were shipped to the UK last year and (with other WW1 aircraft) will take part in centenary commerorative events to celebrate aviation during WW1.  See the previous post at www.nzcivair.blogspot.co.nz/2014/06/the-vintage-aviator-sends-aircraft-to.html
